Detroit Lions 2010 OR 2011 NFC Champs......Believe It

Posted by Joe | Labels: , , , , , , , , | Posted On Monday, November 16, 2009 at 6:17 AM

O.K....Give me 5 minutes and I will tell you how the Detroit Lions can go from league jokers to league leaders. It doesn't take a genius to figure this out.

Are the Lions a good team now?  No.  But they are FAR from poor, and far from the Rod Marinelli.."Were gonna put this loss over here, ok?" team.  Gosh those quotes got old quick.......Anyways,  I believe they have the right man in charge in Jim Schwartz.

But now it's time to make up for all the Millen picks. A hard nose guy like Matt Millen should know EVERYTHING you do in the NFL starts, and ends with the push up front. The hogs, the big fellas, Im talkin the offensive and defensive lines.  No ifs, ands, or buts. Period. If they are weak, so is your team.

Here's my point.  Is Jets QB Mark Sanchez that much better then Matt Stafford?  Is Joe Flacco that much better? I don't think so. I think Stafford could be a QB stud in this league. What's the difference between them and Stafford?

The Jets can actually RUN THE BALL!!  The Ravens can RUN THE BALL!! Running the ball and having that threat of being capable to run softens the defense and opens up the passing game.  The Lions CAN'T run the ball.

We have our QB. Calvin Johnson is a stud. Our defense is improving. I know some stats look bad, but when you ALWAYS lose the Time Of Poss battle game after game, the defense gets tired out.

Very quietly Schwatrz has improved this team, and yes I'm writing this one day after the Lions 27-10  loss to the Minnesota Vikings. But i see it.

Look....I'm not the biggest Lions fan, so take it from someone who isn't emotionally attached to this team. They are getting better.  Build the line, run the ball, and open up Stafford's passing world.

Here's some more reason to have high hopes next year........

We are going to get a high draft pick (again) but at least Schwartz will get HIS GUYS.

When Jimmy Johnson took over the Dallas Cowboys they were a JOKE!! And Johnson was 1-15 his first season.....then you know what happened!!

Look at the past 8 NFC Champs.....most were, out of the blue, I can't believe they did that teams!!!  EXAMPLES--- 2003 Worst to first Carolina Panthers.....2005 Seahawks.....last year ARIZONA!!!....It can happen. And Schwartz is the guy who can do it.

Things will look up if Jim Schwartz gets his chance to develop this team.

2010 Tigers....Division Winners or Last Place, It's Up To Illich

Posted by Joe | Labels: , , , , , , , , | Posted On Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 7:28 AM

There's always a little truth to a rumor. You know, where there's smoke there's fire.  Well if these rumors are true, then I'm wondering where Mr. Illich is taking the direction of the 2010 Detroit Tigers.

Curtis Granderson and Edwin Jackson on the trading block?  No contract for the best second baseman since "Sweet" Lou Whittaker,  Placido Polanco?  Rodney and Lyon testing the market? What is goin on here??  I was so ready for a great 1-2-3 punch of Verlander, Porcello AND  Jackson.  Curtis Granderson should be a Tiger for life, the same goes for Polanco. That guy is a ROCK at second base.

In my humble opinion, this team is one big bat and one closing pitcher from a Division Title and a shot to return to the World Series after the great 2006 run.

I don't want to hear about the wasted money on Dontrelle Willis, or how Maggs got the big bonus. I'm a fan and I want a good product on the field.  Bad management of contracts is no excuse to panic now and start dumping the best players to save money!!

placido-polanco

By far the best 2nd basemen in over 15 years in Detroit. SIGN THIS GUY!!!

An Open Letter To FHA Housing, Barack Obama

Posted by Joe | Labels: , , , , , , , , | Posted On Monday, November 9, 2009 at 11:36 PM

O.K.  I see it on T.V., I hear it on the radio, and now I've seen it on NBC news.  "Nobody is taking advantage of the Obama housing stimulus program, only 80,000 people out of  possible millions have applied."

Hmmmm....that's interesting. Especially to me.  Since I've tried SEVERAL TIMES. I went to the website that FHA Housing told me to go to........

http://makinghomeaffordable.gov/

I filled out the steps. I contacted my mortgage company. They said they would help since I had lost my job.

2 months later my mortgage company was RAIDED BY THE FBI FOR FRAUD!!!  YES, The people who were HELPING me cut my payments in half, were OVER CHARGING me for months. And I never did get into the program they said I would.

But the story gets even more amusing...(NOT REALLY, BUT I'M TIRED OF BEING STRESSED OUT OVER THIS!!).....

The mortgage company who took over my Home Loan, now insists everything I had agreed  (in writing) with my old company is NOT valid.

That's great....I was litterally ripped off by my old mortage company, and my new mortgage company says they won't honor the first real break I got from my old mortgage company.

My "new"  mortgage company has told me REPEATEDLY they can help me. Just fax over your financials, and we will see what we can do. I did that.

Then I called, they said give them a few weeks. A few weeks went by, no response.  I call again. The "representative" said they never received the paper work!!...So I had to do it again....AGAIN 3 weeks later they said they NEVER received the paperwork!!  I asked the represenative who gets the faxes. She said it could one of dozens of people. I asked if I could scan and e-mail the paper work, she said sure, here is my e-mail address.

One week later I called customer service back,  this time with much more optimism since I had e-mailed the files. I mean come on this time it can't get lost.

But this turned out to be even worse and way more aggravating. The first thing the representative says to me is....."I don't know who told you to E-mail stuff here, but we don't do that."

Ok....well I can TELL YOU who told me because now I have her e-mail address. THIS IS NUTS!!!

So why is this so hard to get done Mr. Obama? I just seen you talking on C-SPAN about how you want more people to take advantage of this FHA program.  HOW???  I get a different story from different people EVERY TIME I CALL and ask about this. Why?

And I know I am FAR from the only one this is happening to.

PART-TIME LEGISLATURE
Nothing else needs to be said the pic. speakes for itself.. Paid by our tax money to represent us?????

The guy sitting in the row in front of these two... he's onFacebook, and the guy behind Hennessy is checking out thebaseball scores.
These are the folks that can't get the budget out by Oct. 1,Seriously!!!
So, we've got a 30 day budget extension. Well, guess what, 30 days from now we will be in the same boat. I guess this makes it easy for the news' reporters as all they have to do is recycle the same headlines from this week and from 2 years ago.
And these yo-yos will still be playing SOLITAIRE!!!

Got this picture from a friend......I guess we are in better shape then I thought when six-figure income people who make the laws have time for this on the job.

Yankees Eyeing 27th Title

Posted by Joe | Labels: , , , , , , , , | Posted On Monday, November 2, 2009 at 6:28 AM

After Game 1 of the 2009 World Series was over, every major T.V., radio, and Philly phanatic alive was planning the victory parade in downtown philly.

You can forget that.

ESPN took one of their world famous polls after game one and 76.4% of the fans said Philly will win the series.  Guess they didn't realize the Yankees have a pretty good lineup.

Jimmy Rollins said the World Series would go 5 games, and the Phillies would be back-to-back  champs. Well he was right about the 5 game part.

Tonight the Yanks can win another World Series title, and celebrate in front of Rollins and all the Philly fans, which would make it even more that sweet.  Phillies ace Cliff Lee takes the hill in about an hour and a half for the Phillies. He has been THE BEST pitcher in all the majors during the playoffs.

But even with Lee on the mound, it's going to be hard to deny the Bronx Bombers there 27th World Series Title.  Everyone is predicting a Phills win tonight with Lee forcing a game six, but I don't think that's going to happen. To beat that Yankees line-up is a great feat, but to do it twice in 5 days would be an incredible feat.

I don't think it's going to happen.

I think....ESPECIALLY since everyone says tonight the Yankees will lose.....you will here this later tonight.....

Yankees win...........theeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankees Win!!!!!

But keep the faith philly fans.....If Cliff Lee wins, we all can enjoy the game 6 win in Yankee Stadium on Wednesday.

Favre Just Gets It Done....Returns To Lambeau Field Today

Posted by Joe | Labels: , , , , , , | Posted On Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 5:21 AM

I wonder why people are so hard on Brett Favre.  All he does is his job, and obviously he must do it well. I mean if you worked for Xerox or any company as a sales rep, said you were retiring but still could sell, they would be dying for you to stay on.  That may sound like a odd comparison to some, but it's not.

Work is work. Period. And his job is to win football games. And Farve is doing it even better now than 10 years ago. Just ask the Minnesota Vikings, and their fans.

Farve brings a magic to a team. A fire, a passion and a desire. He plays the game like a little kid, drawing plays up in the sand in the back yard.

Well today, since the first time Favre retired, and came back....then re-retired....then came back.....he goes back to his ole stomping grounds. Lambeau Field.

But as I see it, there is no pressure on Favre. He's a kid playing a kids game, that's why he will do fine. The pressure is on the Packers and most of all it's on Aaron Rodgers. He NEEDS to win this game. If the Packers lose, and they play poorly, there is going to be hell to pay in Packerland.

Never has a single regular season game in November meant so much. The packers can down play this game all they want........but should they lose today at Lambeau, that means Favre stuck it to them again, and they will have lost BOTH games to Minnesota and more painfully to the Packer faithful, to one Brett Favre.

All smiles years back, if Favre beats Rodgers again at Lambeau Field there will be many problems in Packertown.
