The NFL Shows It's Ignorance Again

Mario Reyes.
That name probably doesn't ring a bell with most people. But if you are a NFL football fan, I'm sure Donte Stallworth does. In case you don't know the story, I'll tell you.
Mr. Reyes emigrated from Cuba to the good ole USA for a better life and was known to be a hardworking and decent man who took care of his family. At the time of his death, Reyes left behind a wife of 20 years and a 15-year-old daughter.
How did Mr Reyes die you ask? He was killed by a drunk driver. The thing we hate most. A man LOSES his life, because someone else was reckless, careless, and had no regard for others. People get life in prison for this offense. But not Mr. Reyes' killer.
You see Mr. Reyes' killer not only didn't do time, (wait I'm sorry, he did 24 days) but his old employer is paying him a million dollars next year to "work". I use that term loosely. For you see, Reyes' killer was Dante Stallworth, an up coming NFL star reciever, so that's where the joke begins and ends.
We all know the story..............
The NFL, NBA, Hollywood, they are all the same........they down play everything......they are the masters of changing the story around. They will have specials on ESPN and NFL Network next season of how Stallworth "Changed", and how he is "getting his life together"......blah blah, blah. How does Mario Reyes' wife get HER life together? How does his 15 year old girl get her life together? They are the victims. They are the ones who suffered a loss. NOT DANTE STALLWORTH. But the Baltimore ravens will spin the ole cock and bull story.........you know.....the "everyone deserves a second chance" story...
Look I really do believe people DO deserve second chances. God knows I am FAR from perfect. But this is ridiculous. Athletes, movie stars, all these slap on the wrists they get for doing wrong is a joke. Any common man would have been LUCKY to get 15 years with a chance of parole on involuntary manslaughter charges.
Our judicial system once again turns their head to justice and proves it is a joke.

well, isn't that amazing!!!another "superstar" gets away scott free, sorta say. he still has his job and no worry's, but you said it right, if it happened to be you or me, hello 6x9 for at least 15yrs!!
i guess it pays to be a sports figure, not only do you get paid multi-million dollars to do something you enjoy, but it seems you can also get away with just about anything.
i believe that would apply to any sport, not just the NFL.
way to go Tiger.......
