It just blows my mind. It shouldn't, but it does. Do these judges who come up with these bullshit slap on the wrists sentences for these people in the "limelight" even know what they are doing?
Are they even qualified to be judges? If these judges had kids, or a friend or relative this happened to would they pass out these monopoly "Get out of jail free cards" so easily?
Chris Brown beats on Rihanna like shes a punching bag, makes the world famous "plea deal" and basically walks away.
Like I already said in other blogs, It DOESN"T MATTER if you are Black, White, Chinese, Greek......etc....
Money Talks, and in this case it's a JOKE. There are no plea deals for you and me. The common man, or woman, pays a hefty fine and does time.
Advocates fear Brown's plea deal, which gave him five years' probation and community labor, is so cushy that it sends the wrong message to young men and victims. I can't say I blame them. We try to teach our kids from day one to be respectful, nice, and help your neighbor.
They are also particularly troubled about the impact of the sentence on the many middle and high school students who look up to Brown and Rihanna. Again, Can you blame them?
To me all this verdict says is if you get upset with your girlfriend you have a free pass to hit her......why not, Chris Brown did and he didn't get in trouble.
Instead of making an example out of Brown, and saying "We don't care if you are rich and famous, you are not above the law." They say just the opposite.
What a terrible message to send to our youth.
